Partners,
Funders and Sponsors
SongBird
was a not-for-profit project, and later a registered society. Support
from foundations, corporations, local business, government and non-governmental
organisations, from individuals, and the community made our work
possible.
I extend a warm thank-you to all those who supported our work and
worked side by side with us on some truly inspiring events and initiatives, exemplifying that we must make and embody change, not just request or demand it.
The primary
producer of SongBird events from the beginning until 2001, Savage
Media played an indespensible role in SongBird's emergence and
success and Savage Media's Artistic Director Nelson Gray was co-director
of the SongBird project until 2001.
Performer, composer, and Curator of New Music for the Western Front, DB Boyko was the insighful and indispensible Music Director for the SongBird Oratorio from the beginning of the project.
A very
special thank-you to
Dr. Val Schaefer and the Institute
of Urban Ecology at Douglas College, and to their dedicated volunteers who led our Babylon Habitat Creation workshops; to Amir Alibhai and Elizabeth
Kidd at the Roundhouse
Community Centre in Vancouver, and to Gretchen Harlow of Environment Canada's
Canadian
Wildlife Service, who wholeheartedly came on board right at
the beginning of SongBird and worked with us through the 5 years
of the project. Special thanks also go to John Morton of Wild
Birds Unlimited for his consistent support, and to our longtime partners on the annual Dawn Chorus - the wonderful members of the Vancouver Natural History Society - now Nature Vancouver - who each May generously led the SongBird community listening site bird counts. Last but least, to Claire Bedat artist and landscape architect who lyrically designed and built The Nest based on the architecture of marsh wrens.

WE WORKED OVER THE 5 YEARS OF THE SONGBIRD PROJECT. THE LIST IS
IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER AND IN NO WAY REFLECTS ANY SORT OF "ORDER
